Tamarindo Surf School is the first of its kind founded in Costa Rica. Our unique teaching method is based on experience and knowledge acquired over years of study and surfing. All of our surf instructors are Ticos (local Costa Ricans). This means your surf lesson will not only be conducted by an experienced surf instructor who knows the local breaks but one who will give you some exposure to the Costa Rican culture.

Our approach is simple, enthusiastic, and above all, innovative! We guarantee you will stand up and ride your first wave in just one lesson!! If not, the next lesson is free. We offer not only our extensive experience and knowledge of surf conditions in the area but the most friendly, clean and professional surf school in Tamarindo.

We are located directly on Tamarindo beach, where the waves are perfect for learning how to surf. Our location is also only a short drive from famous beaches like Avellanas, Playa Grande and Playa Negra. In addition to surf lessons, we offer surf trips for experienced surfers who seek great adventures at the world-renowned Roca Bruja “Witch Rock” and Ollie’s Point.

More Than Just a Surf Lessons
This is not just a surf lesson, it is the first step in your surfing career. After years of experience teaching surfing, we guarantee you will stand up and ride your first wave in just one lesson! If not, your next lesson is free. Our lessons begin on the beach with some theory and technique talk. You will then practice the correct movements and positions on the board and head straight into the water for an experience of a lifetime!.
